The challenge: robust communication across distributed infrastructure
OPTIMUS collaborates with Iberdrola, one of the world's leading companies in renewable energy. On this occasion, we have been responsible for providing them with intercom solutions and state-of-the-art public address systems to guarantee safety and operability in their most important infrastructure, from hydroelectric and wind power plants to dams and electrical substations.
Iberdrola manages a wide variety of facilities distributed across different geographical locations, each with its own requirements in terms of safety and communication. These critical installations require robust and reliable communication systems that maintain constant connectivity between remote control centres and the facilities. This type of real-time communication is essential to ensure operability and provide rapid response to potential incidents detected by CCTV systems.
Implemented solution: COMPACT system
To address this challenge, Iberdrola has placed its trust in OPTIMUS's COMPACT System, due to its SIP connectivity capability and flexibility to adapt to different infrastructures. This system has been implemented in several key installations, amongst others:
- Hydroelectric power plants: Such as Valdecañas, Villarino, and Alto Támega
- Dams: Including Daivoes, Cedillo, and La Almendra
- Wind farms: Such as Capiechamartín and Panondres
The SIP connectivity allows control centres, when they detect a problem through CCTV, to send messages quickly and efficiently to the affected facilities, ensuring immediate response.
In smaller installations, where the complete COMPACT system is not necessary, IP-connected amplifiers from the IF-7W series have been installed, adapted to the specific needs of each space, which demonstrates the versatility of OPTIMUS's solutions. The public address equipment, such as the AC-930EN, SP-910DEN, or A-226EN loudspeakers, amongst others, ensure clear and efficient sound coverage throughout the entire environment.
Implementation and ongoing projects
Amongst the most recent deployments are the hydroelectric power plants of Gouvaes (Portugal) and Gabriel y Galán (Cáceres). There are currently scheduled supplies for key installations such as the hydroelectric power plants of Aldeadávila (Salamanca) and La Muela I and II (Valencia), consolidating the expansion of this solution across Iberdrola's critical infrastructure network.
