The nearly 1 km long urban tunnel interconnects one of the most important roads in the Callao province, facilitates the connection with the Jorge Chávez Airport and the Callao Port and improves vehicular traffic for the benefit of more than two million people that reside and transit through the area. The tunnel has three road lanes per direction, with a central space of 10 meters wide for fast transport systems or rail. The public address system for both the vehicle tunnel and the service and evacuation tunnels has been equipped with an OPTIMAX PA system with over 160 horn loudspeakers, 6000 W power, 18 power units connected to the data network and a remote control station also in network.
