Túnel do Marão, Portugal

Located between Amarante and Vila Real, the tunnel crosses the Serra do Marão, joins the interior of Portugal with the coast and favors the international connection through Zamora and Spain. It is the longest tunnel of the Iberian peninsula, with two galleries of 5665 m and 13 emergency passages, equipped with the most modern security systems. OPTIMUS has supplied the PA/VA system, an OPTIMAX with 75 power units distributed through the tunnel and connected to the data network; in total 15,000 W of power that feed the more than 500 exponential speakers located every 25 m in the two galleries.
