The International Airport of Djibouti-Ambouli serves as the main gateway to the Republic of Djibouti, a country located in the Horn of Africa. This airport plays a crucial role in the connectivity of the region, serving as a major hub for air transportation. Located approximately 6 kilometers southwest of the capital, Djibouti, it facilitates access to the city and its surroundings. Established in 1948, it has undergone several expansions and improvements over the years to meet the growing demand for air traffic. It offers a wide range of services and amenities for passengers, including modern waiting lounges, efficient customs and migration services, as well as ground transportation options to connect to various points in the region. With connections to various international and regional cities, the Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport plays a key role in boosting tourism, trade, and diplomatic ties between Djibouti and the rest of the world. Its modern infrastructure and strategic location significantly contribute to the country's economic development and international projection.
At the airport, equipment from the COMPACT series by OPTIMUS has been chosen to implement the public address and voice alarm system due to the quality and performance it offers. This system features an audio matrix capable of managing 6,000 W of RMS power and multiple zones of various sound points, ranging from ceiling speakers and two-way ceiling speakers to acoustic columns. All equipment is EN 54 certified, a standard specifying requirements for public address systems, which, when combined with the fire alarm system, are used to activate the voice alarm in the event evacuation of the premises is necessary. In addition to pre-recorded messages in various languages, the airport is equipped with several zone microphonic desks connected via CAN bus and a central microphone connected via Ethernet. This infrastructure ensures efficient and prompt management of the public address and voice alarm system, providing an effective response in critical situations.
