The Angel Hospital (Ospedale dell'Angelo) is one of the most technologically advanced healthcare centres in Italy, at the forefront of healthcare in Europe. It is located in the town of Mestre, in the part of "terraferma" in front of the island of Venice. The hospital complex occupies a total of 152,000 m2 and has five independent buildings; an auditorium, a commercial area, a car park, the “Banca degli Occhi” (ophthalmology department) and the hospital, with seven floors above ground level plus two underground floors and 680 patient care beds. The public address and voice alarm system installed in the hospital complex is from OPTIMUS. Recently part of the control has been renewed with four cores of the EN54 COMPACT certified system, connected by IP through the data network. The PA/VA system controls approximately one hundred areas of loudspeakers, with the COMPACT and COMPACT-E control units, the two-zone cards UMX-2SA, the ME-200B firemen front emergency microphones, the bus microphone desks MD-30C and the IP microphonic centrals DC-700ETH.
