Cutting-edge solutions for Lanzarote's largest new resort
The majestic Barceló Playa Blanca hotel complex in Lanzarote has integrated OPTIMUS technology into its extensive public address, intercom, and voice alarm system. Officially inaugurated by Grupo HD and the Barceló Hotel Group, this 4-star resort stands as the largest on the island, covering 100,000 square metres in the vibrant tourist area of Playa Blanca.
The Barceló Playa Blanca not only stands out for its size, with 720 rooms and 1,400 beds, but also for its innovative and sustainable design, inspired by the natural surroundings of Lanzarote. The complex incorporates geothermal technologies to reduce its environmental footprint, and its design harmoniously blends with the natural environment, using native vegetation and elements inspired by the work of Lanzarote artist César Manrique.
OPTIMUS Technology for Barceló Playa Blanca
At OPTIMUS, we have supplied a series of advanced public address, voice alarm, and intercom systems for the entire hotel complex, ensuring clear and efficient communication. Two control computers and 8 COMPACT systems have been installed, mounted in OPTIMUS racks strategically distributed throughout the buildings of the complex and connected via a data network. Together, they provide a total power of 20,000 W RMS and include more than 400 speakers. Of these, around 150 are the CA-950EN and CA-950WEN models, certified to EN54-24 standards, and with an IP65 protection rating.
In the theatre/conference room, with a capacity of up to 800 people, several CA-950EN and BS-208T two-way speaker boxes with 100 W RMS of exceptional audio quality have been installed. In the garden and pool area, to integrate the public address system with the environment, mushroom-shaped green speakers (AEM-15T), rock-type speakers (AER-60T), and several CA-950EN and CA-950WEN have been used. For accessibility, 37 assisted bathrooms have been equipped with KB-10F kits, centralised through CC-119F and CC-40F.
Some areas required specific solutions, such as the wellness centre, which includes a spa and gym. Here, a dSOUND distributed audio system has been installed, with K804 control units, K844 and K842 local amplifiers, K810A zone control desk, and A-264IP ceiling speakers with an IP55 protection rating, among others.
Finally, in the parking area, for more convenient use, a rack cabinet with a 12-zone NOVA system has been implemented, with a NOVA-12RM desk, A-256BTM ceiling speakers, and PJ-20 acoustic projectors finished with high-impact polystyrene to ensure their integrity.
