What do we ask of the public address system?
- Sound coverage: All areas of the school must be covered, including classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, sports areas and common areas.
- Sound intelligibility: Sound must be clear and intelligible in all areas, even in environments with high ambient noise.
- Adjustable volume: It must be possible to adjust the volume for different situations, such as general announcements, background music or emergency messages.
- Flexibility: The system must be flexible and adaptable to the different needs of the school. It must allow the connection of different sound sources, such as microphones, CD or MP3 players, computers and alarm systems.
- Ease of use: Especially for school staff, without the need for specialized technical knowledge.
- Reliability: It must work smoothly at all times, with total reliability.
- Safety: All applicable safety regulations must be met.
- Aesthetics: It must integrate harmoniously into the aesthetics of the school.
- Maintenance: The system must be easy to maintain and repair.
Some specific requirements
- Classrooms: Classrooms should have individual speakers that allow the volume to be adjusted to the specific needs of each class.
- Hallways and common areas: Hallways and common areas should have evenly distributed speakers to ensure uniform sound coverage.
- Playgrounds and sports areas: Playgrounds and sports areas should have weatherproof speakers that can play sound at high volume.
- Emergency areas: Emergency areas should have emergency-powered speakers that can operate even in the event of a power outage.
